History of Nanjangud Temple
Nanjangud is a small town near Mysore in Karnataka. The town is famous for the Nanjangud temple located on the bank of River Kabini or Kapila. Nanjangud, also known as Garalapuri.Lord Shiva consumed poison to save the Earth and for that the Nanjangud named also means visha Kanta and Srikanta. It is believed by the devotees that Lord Shiva here cures various diseases and worshipped as bhavarogya vaidya.
